Just step aboard, kick to get a 3-mph
head start — then pull the throttle to engage the
"freewheel" motor...and go! Of all our electric scooters,
the X7 is the fastest — with a peppy motor that powers it swiftly
on large, 7-inch die-cast metal wheels with practically frictionless
bearings — smoothly gliding over streets, sideways and pathways on
ultra low-resistance polyurethane "tires" molded to the
rims. The throttle features a two-level speed control for easier,
more precise maneuvering in traffic. To stop, a squeeze of the hand
brake cuts the power instantly.The new X7’s most distinctive feature is the Stealth-like cover that hides the motor and power pack near the rear wheel. Sharper Image Design’s engineers selected an efficiently trim motor and NiMH battery — then smoothed away the clunky boxes found on typical fat electrics to craft a curving, low-profile black housing that is as sleekly sensuous as any of Detroit’s classic creations.

This handsome, aircraft-grade aluminum
scooter measures 37" long when fully deployed and its steering
column adjusts from 29 to 42 inches high. The comfortable, stable
platform is 7 inches at its widest point, with non-slip strips along
the edges. This X7 electric scooter is a supremely portable vehicle
that weighs less than 23 lbs.; the steering column folds down
(shortening X7’s length by three inches, to 34" long) so the
X7 can be easily be ported onto a commuter train or stowed in a
locker, a car trunk, your office or a classroom — just about
anywhere. Keep your X7 with you wherever you go for a spontaneous
runabout or a quick errand.
NiMH means "best."
A small, ultra-efficient 4 Ah Nickel
Metal Hydride (NiMH) rechargeable battery powers the clean, quiet
24V motor. Unlike larger, less efficient lead acid or nickel cadmium
(NiCad) batteries, the higher quality (and more expensive) NiMH
battery is preferred by environmentalists and scooter fans alike: a
NiMH battery will not leak lead or cadmium pollutants, and it has no
"memory effect" — meaning its capacity is not lost or
annoyingly depleted by recharging; there is never a worry about the
state of battery charge if you simply want to recharge and juice up
to maximize your range.Freewheel fun. Sharper Image Electric X7 is a "freewheel" scooter, which means the gearing is designed to allow you to motor and kick-assist at the same time — maximizing your speed, power, range and enjoyment of the experience. Unlike heavier competitive electric scooters without this option, the X7 is as easy to propel as any little kick scooter — so you’ll never concern yourself about running out of power and being forced to walk your scooter home! The specified unassisted top speed of 10 mph, and the cruising range of 5 miles, will of course vary with factors such as average speed, terrain, wind, kick assistance and rider weight.
